Peter M. Bochnewich

A partner in the firm, Peter’s practice includes complex civil litigation, including business and contract dispute litigation and a well regarded and substantial focus on trust and estate litigation. Peter has substantial mediation, arbitration law and motion and trial experience. Peter’s practice also includes elder abuse litigation, product liability, real property disputes, discrimination in employment and sexual harassment litigation. Peter has tried complicated employment discrimination matters and has also litigated antitrust matters before the complex litigation panel of Los Angeles Superior Court, where he helped obtained seven figure settlement for a client in that arena.

Elected by his colleagues to serve on the Board of Trustees of the Desert Bar Association in the year 2000, Peter has been elected to the Board of Trustees ever since. Currently, Peter is President-Elect/Vice-President of the Desert Bar Association, having previously served as Secretary to the organization. Peter will assume the role of President in 2007. Peter has also been selected to act as a delegate to the California State Bar Convention.

Born in New York, Peter was raised in primarily in Connecticut and earned a degree in business management from Central Connecticut State University. Peter earned his law degree from California Western School of Law in San Diego in 1992, where he was active in numerous student and public affairs activities and the recipient of several academic achievement awards. Peter was admitted to the California Bar and U.S. District Court, Southern District of California, in 1992. Peter is also admitted to practice law in U.S. District Court, Central District of California.

Active in community affairs, Peter has been an invited guest speaker to various groups on trust and estate litigation issues, and on changes in the law facing the building industry. Peter is a member of the Building Industry Association, Desert Chapter, the Desert Estate Planning Council, the Desert Bar Association and the California Bar Association.

Peter pursues an avid and active interest in local theater, and has appeared and performed on stage in numerous local productions since the year 2000, including productions at the McCallum Theatre. Peter founded Coachella Valley Shakespeare Festivals, Inc., with the goal of bringing Shakespeare programs to desert community families. Peter has also been a writer, producer, director and performer for approximately 10 years in the now legendary Desert Bar Association Bird Awards-Attorneys and Distinguished Judges comedy awards show.

A devoted father of one daughter, Peter resides in Palm Desert, CA.
